The MAIT cabin is also a lot smaller than a lorry, meaning that the most economic load is also small. The rise of the out-of-town super-store is encouraged, not just by the convenience that the motor car gives to some of the customers, but also by the efficiencies of supplying large batches of goods via easy road links to the main trunk roads.
The smaller size and the low environmental impact of the MAIT system also means that transported goods will be much more acceptable in crowded town centres than when carried by lorry.
