MAIT  international e.V.
  • is a new non-profit organization.

  • has been founded August 6, 2000 by
Joerg Schweizer and John Greenwood and has its seat in Adelsheim, Germany.

  • has the mission
to protect the environment and to increase the quality of life by developing and promoting the MAIT system.
Activities

The core activity is the development of basic technologies that are required for the MAIT system. After its introduction, activities will mainly consist in the verification and certification of standards. The manufacturing of the system will be achieved by collaboration with industrial partners. Furthermore MAIT international sees its role as a mediator between the public, industry, university and government with the aim to turn the MAIT system into a reality.

Dr. Joerg Schweizer
President

Joerg Schweizer received the electrical engineering degree (``Diplom Ingenieur der Elektrotechnik'') in 1993 from the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany. During his studies he specialized in system and control theory.
He continued research at University College Dublin, Ireland, from 1993 to 1994.
In 1999 he received his PhD from the Chair of Circuits and Systems at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne, Switzerland. His general research interests have been the application of nonlinear system theory to the fields of communications and bio-inspired neural networks.
From 1999-2002 he worked as an independent consultant for a German company where he did the development and prototyping of an ultra-sonic distance- and angle-meter.
From 2002-2003 he organized the set-up of a Bionics laboratory at the National Microelectronics Research Center (NMRC) in Cork, Ireland.
Since 2003 he works at the DISTART-trasporti institute where he develops a novel measurement and control-technology for Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) systems, a fully-automated, rail-based, transportation system.
Joerg Schweizer has been a reviewer for the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems journal.

John Greenwood, BSc,MinstP,FIEE
Vice-President

John Greenwood is a well established engineer and inventor with about 70 patents mostly in the field of sensors and micromechanical systems. He is a co-founder of MAIT international.
