The table shows the relation between the number and location of
cabin-carrier interfaces and the carrier technologies. It is evident
that there is a trade-off between
- the weight and costs of interfaces on the cabin-side (yellow) and
- the required constructions on the carrier side (green).
Beside the transferrer categories there are the different
transfer methods , defining how the cabin transfer and
disconnection/reconnection of links take place.
This means the transferrer design is conditioned by:
- the number and location of interfaces (categories) and
- the transfer methods.
On the one hand, preference of carriers will have an
impact on the choice of the categories. But on the other hand, it may
turn out that some transfer methods for a certain category are
particularly advantageous with respect to the design objectives,
such that the respective category is preferable. In the
subsequent, some transfer methods are outlined.
