Modular Automated Individual Transport

MAIT : the best realizable transport solution

The concept of MAIT

MAIT consists of 3 modular groups

Cabins
which are automatically guided along a particular implementation of the track.

Carriers
which are automatically guided along a particular implementation of the track.

Tracks
which can be implemented with any technology that is suitable to meet a specific transit need.

What can be transported ?

  • 4 seated adults with luggage or

  • 3 standard Euro pallets or

  • in general a payload of maximum 500 kg
in small, customizable cabins of approximately
1.6m x 1.6m x 3.2m.

From where to where ?

From point-to-point, that is

  • for passengers, from door to door, including some internal doors.

  • for goods, between production machines, warehouse shelves and shop-floors.

Note that the definition of point-to-point, includes indoor transport.

At what time ?

  • 24h a day, on demand,

  • booking possible at any time.

How does the transport happen ?

Fully automated:

  • by routing the cabin automatically with passengers or freight on a carrier along a track,
  • where necessary, by transferring the cabin automatically from one carrier type to another.

What makes a transport system a MAIT system ?

MAIT systems are all fully automated transportation systems that comply with the MAIT standards.

The MAIT standard contains the following components:

1.
cabin with a standardized envelope volume

2.
cabin-carrier interface.

3.
general standardized safety, comfort and security criteria.

4.
communication protocols between modules.

5.
user terminals at MAIT stops and inside cabins.
